  • Anastasia Nysten
    Anastasia Nysten Editor-in-chief

    Born in Ottawa, Canada to a Lebanese Mother and a Finnish father, Anastasia Nysten grew up in Finland, France and Lebanon. She received her Masters degree in Industrial Design from ALBA (Academie Libanese des Beaux-Arts) in Beirut during which time she was working at Karen Chekerdjian design studio. After Graduation she moved to London to be part of Lighting designer Michael Anastassiades’ team where she stayed over three years. As of 2015, Anastasia has been editor of Selections magazine in Dubai, UAE where she now lives and works.

          Laura Egerton is a Dubai-based art historian, writer and curator. She was one of the founding team behind Art Dubai, where she ran education programmes, selected art projects and was curator of the Abraaj Group Art Prize for its first five years. She holds MAs in art history from Cambridge University and the Courtauld Institute of Art.

Co-founder of OE-O, a multi-disciplinary design studio, her work focuses on the relationship between art and design, and how it manifests regionally.

                    Anya Stafford is a writer living between the UAE and Ireland. She has over 15 years’ experience as an online editor and writer for the likes of Google, Sony, Deezer and City Arts Centre Dublin. She recently completed first year of the MFA in Media through the National College of Art and Design, and before that the MSc in Interactive Digital Media in Trinity College, both in Dublin. Her ongoing research focuses on systems of art, and the aesthetics of ecosystems.

                        Born in Paris in 1960, Guillaume Cuiry is a 20th century design specialist and expert of La Compagnie des Experts Français en Antiquités for the 1920s, 1930s and Design. With more than 30 years experience in Europe as a 20th century art design dealer and collector, he launched La Galerie Nationale, the famous Middle Eastern 20th century art design gallery in 2011 from Dubai. As an expert, curator, consultant and advisor, he is also a frequent speaker, contributor to publications and interior committee award member.

                              India Stoughton graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MA in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies. During her course she spent a semester studying in Damascus, where she developed a deep interest in Syrian, Lebanese and Iraqi art and culture. Having traveled extensively in the Middle East, spending time in Morocco, Turkey, Jordan, Iraq and Qatar, as well as Syria, she is currently based in Lebanon, where she works as an art and culture reporter.

                                Yasmina Nysten is a painter, writer and photographer. From New York to Qatar she has shown her photography, illustration and painting. Born and raised in Helsinki, she has lived in Cannes, Beirut and Brooklyn. After a Bachelor’s degree from ALBA University, Beirut, she is currently earning her Master’s from the acclaimed Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. In her spare time, Yasmina has been known to trip the lights fantastic and ride her hot pink motorcycle around the hood.
