‘Confessions’ by Electra Simons opens on July 1st at Takeover Beirut from 18:00 to 21:00. The exhibition is available by appointment from July 2nd to July 20th, Mondays to Wednesdays, from 10:00 to 19:00. A closing party and final exhibition takes place on July 21st, from 18:00 to 21:00.
“Confessions اعتراف” expands Electra’s exploration of sacred, private, and public spaces. This interactive, live exhibition transforms the Takeover space into a unique setting that functions both as the artist’s studio and a space for sincere dialogues. Inspired by the structure of the Confession Box, where physical separation enhances freedom and intimacy, participants are invited to enter the space alone to share thoughts, stories, and sketches with strong emotional resonance. Electra will then interpret these ‘confessions’ into new artwork created in the same space. Each confession remains private and undisclosed, offering a chance to release any trapped feelings.
Electra Simons is a British artist with Lebanese heritage. Her studio practice bridges art, design, storytelling, and creative direction, driven by a deep interest in the human psyche, the threads connecting us across cultures, and the structures mediating our behavior.
