‘Coups de Coeur’ at Galerie Tanit Beirut

Photography has undergone significant evolution over time and is now an integral component of artistic expression. Throughout its history, Galerie Tanit has amassed a collection of photographs and collaborated with photographers whose deeply personal work resonates with the gallery’s mission and ethos. In Beirut, Galerie Tanit stood as the pioneering gallery to showcase photography exhibitions.

“Coups de Cœur” exhibition opens on Thursday, August 31st, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Galerie Tanit in Beirut. This exhibition features an assortment of both Lebanese and international artists, embodying the artistic programming of Tanit galleries in Munich and Beirut.

“Coups de Cœur” harmonises the creations of 23 photographers, including renowned names such as Ziad Antar, Nadim Asfar, Christian Catafago, Sarah Charlesworth, Franck Christen, Roy Dib, William Eggleston, Fouad Elkoury, Elger Esser, Gilbert Hage, Joan Ill, Joumana Jamhouri, Rania Matar, Ian Mckeever, Randa Mirza, Samer Mohdad, Youssef Nabil, Eric Poitevin, Giulio Rimondi, Roy Samaha, Taryn Simon, Stephen Waddell, and Kimiko Yoshida.

Founded in 1972 by Naila Kettaneh-Kunigk and Stefan Kunigk, Galerie Tanit stands as a contemporary art institution based in Munich. In 1981, Walther Mollier joined the gallery, contributing to its growth and vision.
