A DECADE OF DESIGN | GROUP EXHIBITION

2021 marks the tenth anniversary of Tashkeel’s commitment to the development of UAE product design. Over the last 10 years, Tashkeel has created a range of programmes that seek to build knowledge, strengthen skills, foster experimentation and facilitate partnerships. These include public workshops, lectures and talks, the Tanween design programme, international designer residencies, Make Works UAE, the Van Cleef & Arpels Middle East Emergent Designer Prize and the Tanween Collection of furniture and lighting pieces.

This exhibition charts Tashkeel’s journey in design since 2011 through the contexts of collaboration, experimentation, craft and identity. Featuring prototypes and final products, ‘A Decade of Design’ attempts to express the journey shared with all those who have been part of in the organisation’s efforts to push the boundaries of UAE design practice forward.
