Al Ketbi (2018) Takrar

Event Details

Al Rabi’a is an experimental, process-led space by visual artist, Shaikha Al Ketbi.

Featuring walls lined with static and moving paintings depicting scenes from the artist’s dreams juxtaposed with fabricated recollections, Al Ketbi will continue to populate the space over a period of two months with additional paintings, furniture pieces and sculptures. Through this work, she explores themes of impostorism while excavating hidden truths within her own narrative in the context of mental health.

The space will be further activated in collaboration with other members of the Warehouse421 creative community, becoming the ephemeral epicenter for an eclectic program of experiences, workshops, discussions and events.

Shaikha Al Ketbi has her own contemporary art practice, with photography, drawing and installation as her main mediums, and her work has been shown locally and internationally. She is an alumna of the Salama bint Hamdan Emerging Artists Fellowship.
