Event Details

MACAM is pleased to announce to announce hosting  “Crossed Perspectives” exhibition,  from August 10 to October 1, 2023, at MACAM, Chloé Coomans (Belgium) and elparo (France)’s exhibition “Crossed “Perspectives” blends their different art forms, exploring new cultures and environments.

Chloé Coomans (Belgium) works in various mediums, including sculpture, painting, screen printing, printing, ceramics, and video, while elparo (France) started as a graffiti artist and later transitioned to painting on canvas. He now focuses on in-situ sculptures.

During their one-month residency at MACAM, the two artists took the time to fully immerse themselves in the surroundings, drawing inspiration from the environment to create an indoor and outdoor exhibition, incorporating various art forms such as sculpture, drawing, and video. The raw materials they used consisted of natural elements, prompting reflections on their creative process and the inherent history of the industrial site. Having already collaborated on sculptures in Europe and Canada, they embarked on an artist residency at MACAM to create intertwined works, drawing inspiration from the surroundings and using natural materials. Elparo creates an in-situ piece, engaging with nature and the old lime factory, while Coomans presents a multifaceted exhibition, including drawing, installation, and video, in a creative exploration fueled by encounters and journeys.

The event is in collaboration with Artemed and Zico House
