Design, So I Can See You: Cairo Design Week Launches Its First Campaign

Cairo Design Week (CDW), one of the region’s fastest-growing platform for design and creativity, has launched its first-ever campaign, Design, So I Can See You. More than a campaign, it serves as a manifesto for CDW 2025, the most ambitious edition to date, running from 20 to 29 November across Heliopolis, Zamalek, and Downtown Cairo.

Inspired by Socrates’ phrase, “Speak, so I can see you,” the campaign reinterprets self-expression through design. It positions design as a language of visibility and identity; an act through which individuals and communities declare who they are. The campaign suggests that design, like speech, allows us both to see and to be seen.

At its centre is a striking hero video that captures design as a lived experience rather than a static form, shaping the spaces we inhabit, the clothes we wear, and the objects we use. Through its visual identity and message, the campaign celebrates the human impulse to create, inviting designers, artists, and the wider public to make their visions visible.

Since its launch in 2022, Cairo Design Week has rapidly evolved into one of the region’s leading cultural gatherings. The 2024 edition featured over 100 designers, 150 exhibitors, and 80 speakers. Building on this success, CDW 2025 will expand its reach and ambition, connecting Egypt’s creative voices with global design leaders and positioning Cairo alongside major international design capitals.

For ten days, the city will transform into an open design playground, with installations, exhibitions, pavilions, and live activations enlivening its streets and landmarks. Talks, workshops, and the new CDW Universities Initiative will spotlight emerging talent, underscoring Egypt’s evolving role in the global design conversation rooted in heritage, yet boldly forward-looking.

Location: Cairo, Egypt.

Date: 20 until 29 November 2025.
