Firetti Contemporary announces an exclusive collaboration with the historic glassmaking firm Moser, ‘founded in 1857. This event showcases a fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary art, celebrating over 160 years of Moser’s expertise in glassmaking.
Established by Ludwig Moser, the company has preserved its artisanal integrity by passing down secret techniques through generations. Moser’s glass works are meticulously crafted by master craftsmen without automated machines, maintaining the brand’s heritage.
In collaboration with Firetti Contemporary, this event supports and celebrates art and creativity in the UAE. Moser will present an exclusive selection of their historical glass creations alongside newly crafted pieces inspired by Emirati artist Salmah Al Mansoori. This limited edition of glass works showcases Salmah’s watercolour series ‘I Reminisce in Colours,’ which explores Ghayathi’s diverse landscapes, from vast deserts to evolving urban environments, encapsulating the essence of the city that has shaped her identity.
Salmah expresses her experiences and emotions through intricate mark-making and layers of colour in her paintings. Each stroke represents a fragment of her journey and reflects the places and spaces significant in her life.
The collaboration between Moser and Salmah Al Mansoori brings together the elegance of hand-cut glass and the vibrant storytelling of contemporary art. Guests will have the unique opportunity to witness these exquisite pieces firsthand and explore the artistic dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and modern artistic expression.
About Salmah Almansoori
Salmah Almansoori, an Abu Dhabi-based multidisciplinary artist born in Ghayathi, Aldhafra, in 2001, explores the intersections of place and memory in her diverse body of work. Her practice includes site-specific installations, painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and video. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Art from Zayed University, Abu Dhabi (2023).
Almansoori’s work centers on the idea that a place is more than a geographical location—it’s integral to our identity. She believes physical spaces absorb thoughts, emotions, and memories, connecting us to or challenging our roots, culture, and identity.
Her work is influenced by her hometown of Ghayathi and the UAE’s natural landscapes. Recent exhibitions include a solo showcase at The Warehouse, Dubai (2023), and appearances at The Design District, Dubai (2023), The Foundry Gallery, Dubai (2022), and Puertas Adentro, Uruguay (2022). She has participated in residencies like Volume 6, Samt Alternative Art School Residency Program, Dubai (2022), MANGO Residencia Para Artistas, Argentina, and Puertas Adentro, Casa de Artista, Uruguay (2022).
