Tashkeel, a renowned art organisation in Dubai, is hosting its largest-ever exhibition called ‘Made in Tashkeel.’ This exhibition showcases curated works by artists from over 30 nationalities and coincides with the opening of the Alserkal Makerspace, highlighting the growth and innovation fostered by Tashkeel’s platforms and programmes. The exhibition, running from June 21 to September 5, celebrates Tashkeel’s 15-year impact on the UAE art sector and features artwork by longtime members, instructors, artists-in-residence, workshop participants, and past exhibitors. The selection encompasses various mediums, including mixed media, printmaking, drawing, painting, sculpture, jewellery, photography, and graphic design.
With a commitment to nurturing talent, the exhibition represents a diverse range of artists from Emirati and international backgrounds. Notably, it showcases the work of over 25 Emirati artists, alongside artists from countries such as the UK, Spain, Germany, India, Iraq, and many more. The exhibition also includes new works by Emirati artist Abdulla Lutfi and Zambian-born artist Victor Sitali, reflecting Tashkeel’s dedication to inclusivity and its annual youth program. Coinciding with the exhibition, Tashkeel invites visitors to explore its newly opened Alserkal Makerspace, offering services like printing, cutting, access to a communal fine art studio, and specialized equipment for artwork creation and design prototyping. ‘Made in Tashkeel’ 2023 is open to the public at the Tashkeel Gallery on Alserkal Avenue and offers artist-led guided tours on specific dates.
