Athr Gallery has collaborated with the innovative art collective teamLab on ‘Spatial Dialogues’, continuing a partnership that has been ongoing for over eight years. This collaboration has spanned local and global initiatives, promoting a unique fusion of art and technology.
Athr Gallery and teamLab’s latest joint venture has been curating a selection of teamLab’s artworks at Beit Zenel, a historic landmark in Jeddah’s AlBalad district. The exhibition, titled ‘Spatial Dialogues’, open until the 30th of August, features a curated selection of teamLab’s monitor artworks, distinct from the immersive experiences at the nearby teamLab Borderless museum. This showcase offers a glimpse into teamLab’s poetic and expressive digital works, which explore the emotions of humanity and the world around us. Drawing inspiration from Japanese literary arts, such as poetry and traditional painting, these works are transformed into immersive, vivid visuals that engage viewers on multiple levels.
Mohammed Hafiz, CEO and co-Founder of ATHR, highlighted the striking similarities between Arab and Japanese cultures, especially in their shared appreciation and expression of poetry. He noted that Japanese poetry, known for its observative and reflective nature, is beautifully expressed through teamLab’s art, which captures the beauty of the world and the essence of being alive. Hafiz emphasised ATHR’s commitment to presenting innovative art to their community, stating that they have worked tirelessly with teamLab to make this unique experience accessible to everyone.
